Words on the street is that newspapers are dying. The physical form of printed paper delivering yesterday news to the masses, that part is dying.

Most people now prefer the online web as they resource for news. The Star news publications already has a good web online presence with their main news website and some other sites like the Daily Chili.

I just found out that they are offering self-serve advertising on their websites. You could now easily advertise your product or your brand straight on their websites.

It looks like The Star Online is cutting out any middle man and deal directly with advertiser.

This is a sign that The Star, a well known news publication is currently looking seriously into new media. They wouldn’t have set this all up if they are not thinking that there is serious revenue on their online counterpart.

Well if I were an advertiser, I would want to know more about it’s traffic and the demographic of The Star reader before I sign up. There is not information on that anywhere on the website though.

Check out The Star Online Self-Serve Advertising.
